- Grants in aid of research
The grants-in-aid program is open to all marine mammal researchers. Membership in the Society for Marine Mammalogy is not required. Awards to non-members of the Society will include a membership for the duration of the award. These grants are intended to support field research directly. Learn more about grants in aid of research.
- Grants for conference support
For the last four biennial conferences, the Society has provided conference support for a limited number of scientific colleagues who are principal investigators employed by governments, universities or other organizations in developing or soft-currency countries. This is not a student-support program; it is meant for working scientists who reside in a country where resources to support international conference attendance are inadequate or simply don't exist.
